Meet the team

Bob Hay

Managing Director

Bob knows a thing or two about loyalty, being a Manchester Utd season ticket holder and having a daughter and son, Hollie and Lewis, who both work for Streets Ahead. Bob’s children and grand-children, Lilly and Livia, are the apples of his eye and his memorable moments include his daughter’s wedding two years ago. There is nothing that Bob likes more than being alone in the kitchen on Sunday and making a roast for the family (well maybe cheering at Old Trafford when Man United are winning!)

Email: gary.ohare@streetsahead.info

Gary’s most memorable moment is Streets Ahead winning a best estate agent award for the first time and is thrilled to bits that Streets Ahead have gone on to win 30 national awards since. Local Information

Restaurants:

restaurants_crystal-palace

Crystal Palace is the meeting place of five boroughs (Croydon, Bromley, Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth) and offers a varied array of eateries, centred on The Triangle which is made up of three roads.

American-influenced Joanna’s has established itself as something of an institution over its 30 years of existence thanks to its signature hamburger, and cocktails.

And if you fancy a modern twist on local history, the nearby Exhibition Rooms models its décor on the glass Crystal Palace that once stood on the nearby park but burned down in the 1930s. Its cuisine is modern British and signature cocktails include cucumber and elderflower.

If you are in the mood for something more casual, try the Westow House pub which does a great burger, has eight ales on tap and a 1950s pinball machine while another pub The Sparrowhawk pub makes everything in-house from its burger buns to its confit duck.

The Crystal Palace Market offers a new concept, by offering fresh food, prepared simply and on the spot. And for the more exotic, there’s Numidie, a French-Algerian restaurant, serving the likes of merguez sausages and fish soup, set amidst giant mirrors, vintage fittings, colourful walls and shabby-chic mismatched crockery. Thai aficionados should try Tamnag Thai and its selection including red curry, yellow curry and phad Thai.

Finally, after a stroll round the Crystal Palace Park, why not call into The Café St Germain? Here you can enjoy views of the mini-Eiffel Tower – a 719ft, 1950s broadcast transmitter that dominates the South London skyline – while you enjoy a café crème, a croque monsieur or what the business itself boasts are the finest pastries this side of the Channel.
