Why Choose Woodside Green

Woodside Green

The neighbourhood is mostly residential streets built around Woodside Green, a triangular green of about 4.75 acres. Mature plane trees shade benches, and there’s a stone horse and cattle trough beside the road that runs through it.

It’s protected open space. In 1871 it was handed to Croydon’s local board on condition that it stay open forever as a place of recreation for local residents. It’s also a registered village green. In practice, the view from homes facing it is very unlikely to be built on.

Woodside or Blackhorse Lane tram stops get you to East Croydon in around 10 minutes.
Norwood Junction, in Zone 4, has Southern trains to London Bridge and Victoria, Thameslink to St Pancras and Gatwick, and the Overground through Crystal Palace, Canada Water and Shoreditch.
