Two summer charity sports tournaments raise £7,000 for Streets Ahead Foundation – Directors thanks sponsors and supporters

Friends, staff and client of Streets Ahead Estate Agents have raised £7,000 from two summer sports tournaments for the firm’s Foundation for local charities.

The latest event – the Streets Ahead Foundation 5-a-side football tournament at Whyteleafe Sports Club – attracted 120 players and raised £2,000 in an afternoon last week.

The earlier event – a Charity Golf Day last month – attracted fourteen teams of keen
golfers to Addington Golf Club who raised £5,000 for the Streets Ahead Foundation to help local charities and worthy causes.

“We are absolutely delighted with the support we received for both the 5-a-side tournament and the golf day,” said Streets Ahead Director Gary O’Hare.

“We want to thank everyone who came along to make both days such a success and help raise such an amazing amount of money for the Foundation.

“It was the first time we had staged the football tournament and it was really fantastic –
everyone enjoyed the day, so we’ll definitely hold it again next year.”

Many friends and family came to watch as estate agents and contractors from as far as
Bournemouth and Leeds battled it out on the pitch at Whyteleafe Football Club.

The final was contested in blazing sunshine between Barnard Marcus Estate Agents and D.
Young Electrical Services, with the team from D. Young (pictured here) clinching the game by 5 goals to 1.

“Huge thanks go out to our kind sponsors of the event, Bryden Johnson Chartered
Accountants, Wisby Ltd and Peter Antill as well as Whyteleafe Football Club for enabling us to host the tournament,” said Streets Ahead Managing Director Bob Hay.

Mr Hay also thanked the sponsors and supporters of the Golf Day, including Zoopla, Reapit, Smart Financial Advice, Dave Garland, James Robshaw, Peter Knight, Thomas Mae, Ben Haenow, The Addington Golf Club, Crystal Palace Football Club and Newton Honda.

He added: “We had a great day of golf – the weather was fantastic – and the Addington Golf Club proved an excellent course and venue for this key event.”

*Streets Ahead Estate Agents launched the Streets Ahead Foundation to support local
charities as part of their 25th Anniversary celebrations. They are well on target to raise
£25,000 by the end of the year, with each member of staff voluntarily committing to raise
£250 for the charity.
