Streets Ahead team tackle tough ‘Nuts Challenge’ assault course and raise £1,600 for our Foundation charity.

A Streets Ahead team took on the gruelling ‘Nuts Challenge’ race and raised £1,600 for our Foundation which raises funds for local charities and good causes.

This commendable effort pushes the Foundation closer to the £25,000 target set to mark Streets Ahead’s 25th Anniversary.

The 15 strong team tackled 7km of mud and obstacles with names like The Wall, Hell River and Kamikaze at the Nuts Challenge assault course at Swires Farm in Dorking on Saturday, 5th September.

They all came  within the top third of a field of 1,500 competitors, with top place Matt Wilson finishing in a time of 2 hours, 9 minutes and 16 seconds, while Abbie Williams came in just four seconds later, in 2 hours, 9 minutes and 20 seconds.

The Streets Ahead team for Nuts Challenge was:  Matt Wilson, Abbie Wilson, Samantha Goff, Dominique Martins, Beth Cox, Amir Ghomshei, Gemma Fenwick, Billie-Lee Blankson, Faye Godfrey, Christy Fenwick, Eve Livesley, Rebecca Hughes, Kai Seale, Lucy Day, Jennifer Vergerson.

“This was a brilliant effort by our team, who braved the cold and the wet to raise a magnificent amount of money for the Streets Ahead Foundation,” said Director Gary O’Hare.

“Well done to everyone who took part!”

The Streets Ahead Foundation total for 2015 is currently sitting at £18,100 with five months to go.  There are three major fund raising events scheduled for the autumn: a Pool Night, a Quiz Night and our annual Charity Dinner.
