Marina’s surprise award for sterling service
Streets Ahead launched its 25th anniversary celebrations by surprising long serving member of staff Marina Steel with the gift of a Rolex watch.
Marina, whose nephew is Croydon-based X Factor winner Ben Haenow, has been with the estate agency since it was founded 25 years ago by Managing Director Bob Hay and Director Gary O’Hare.

Since then Streets Ahead has grown to be one of the best known estate agencies in South East London and Surrey. So Marina – one of the agency’s top producers – was “thrilled” when Gary O’Hare made the surprise presentation in recognition of her sterling 25 year service with the company.
“For the first time in my life I was lost for words – I was half expecting a carriage clock as a joke but never imagined I would get a Rolex!” said a delighted Marina, who lives in Shirley, Croydon.
“Streets Ahead has been a brilliant company to work for, both through the good and the tough times, and I have loved it.’’
Streets Ahead are planning a host of 25th anniversary celebrations throughout the Spring, with the Mayor and Chief Executive of Croydon Council set to be guests of honour at Silver Anniversary events in the Croydon flagship office.
“We’ve extended an invitation to Marina’s nephew Ben Haenow to join the party – he’s a busy guy but we’d love to see him help his aunt celebrate her big anniversary with Streets Ahead.”
As part of their 25th Anniversary Celebrations, the team at Streets Ahead have pledged to raise money for the Streets Ahead Estate Agents Foundation which helps local charities. The estate agents are also sponsoring the Croydon Half Marathon on March 29.
Streets Ahead are a multi-award winning South East London and Surrey estate agency, specialising in sales, lettings, new homes, commercial, corporate lets and property management.
